Basic Weathering Techniques (Hands On) Limit 25 per session

Learn the basics of taking a standard plastic kit and adding some weathering. This will focus on tips for prepping the model and adding the first few layers of weathering. These techniques are good for all eras and a wide variety of scales.

Make and Take Evergreen Trees Part I & II Limit 50 participants

Come make a background evergreens to add to your layout. Starting with trunks from Coastmans Scenic Products we will first start with building the basic tree structure. After the meal break come back to finish off the tree to take home with you.

The availability of miniature motors, low-cost controls, ultra small LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes), and small sound generators allow models to behave as if they were alive in miniature - to scale.  Ten years of operating the SP Cascade Line has both fulfilled the design objective and provided insight into how and why the SP ran the line in the 1980s. Lessons on organizing for operations and crew development will be discussed.

Basic Scenery in TWO PARTS (Clinic is two hours)

 This is a 2-part clinic that explains methods and shows examples of scenery. It starts with a basic introduction to building a scenery base and then explains how to build out, paint, and detail the scene.
