We're working on arranging site visits to local prototype railroad related sites, and Portland features the Oregon Rail Heritage Center with the SP 4449, SP&S 700, UP 197, and the Mt. Emily Shay locomotives. Poulsen #2 may still be there during the convention. Oregon Pacific RR #1, an SW-1 equipped with a trolley pole is also in use on the associated Oregon Pacific RR, which also has a GMD-1.
We are still looking for an enthusiastic person to help coordinate prototype tours - we don't know if there will be buses involved or if it will be totally self-drive. If interested, please contact Dave Holden from our Contact page.
