The banquet speaker will be Bill Decker, a long-time SP modeler and fan. His earliest memories of railroading were of waiting at Albany, Oregon, for SP#10, the northbound Shasta Daylight, to arrive bearing his grandparents. Though his vocation turned to aviation, railroading was in his blood, providing a lifetime interest. Bill retired from a career as a research engineer for NASA, where he helped develop tiltrotor aircraft operating procedures. His website at https://espeecascades.blogspot.com/ is 14 years of experience in researching, building, and operating a double-deck HO scale layout that models the Southern Pacific line over the Cascade Mountains between Eugene and Crescent Lake. It is located in a >2,400 sq ft basement and will be available for layout tours and an op session during the convention.

Modeling with the Masters: $55
Modeling with the Masters will offer participants the opportunity to learn and apply advanced modeling techniques in a hands-on setting. The 2026 project is a scratchbuilt snow shed. Click here for more information.

Westside Express Trip: $15
Thursday, May 14, 2:00pm - 5:00pm Carpool to the TriMet WES shops in Wilsonville arriving at 2:00pm. Registration will also request to know if you plan to present model(s) for AP Evaluation and/or model(s), photograph(s), or craft project(s) for the NMRA contest or People's Choice award. This does not obligate you to present a model or other item, nor is it required to participate in the contests or evaluation - we're just trying to get an approximate headcount. If you would like to be included as one of the contest judges, please check that box.

We are planning to organize some operating sessions on local layouts during the convention. Please check the appropriate box if you wish to participate as an operator.
